In line with GFSI Governance Rules, CGF/GFSI member companies are given priority when applying for GFSI Working Groups.
- Applicants must represent one of the types of organisations listed in the composition section above and represent their organisation only
- Applicants must be an active member of the organisation they represent
- Applicants must also understand:

- International standards, including ISO
- Food Safety certifications,
- Accreditation. For example, the IAF and IAF MLA regulations
- GFSI Governance rules and ways of working
- Applicants must commit to the behaviour and code of conduct stated in the GFSI Governance rules and be committed to the effective delivery of the working group mandate
