The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is pleased to announce the constitution of the new GFSI Benchmarking and Harmonisation Working Group (BHWG)
The focus is the development and effective implementation of GFSI Benchmarking Requirements (BMR), under the purview of the GFSI Technical Sub Committee, at a global level.
GFSI Benchmarking requirements (BMR) are the cornerstone of GFSI’s strategy for driving Harmonisation and the BHWG will be essential to adhere to the bold goal to deliver the new set of Benchmarking requirements by the end of 2024.
The GFSI Steering Committee is therefore committed to the swift constitution of this working group.
The key objective is to form a multi-stakeholder group of experts on the subject of GFSI BMR strengthening the quality of the groups’ output whilst remaining very intentional on delivering the next set of BMR as per the announced timeline.
Professionals with an extensive track record in Food Safety Management with knowledge and expertise of GFSI-recognised certification programmes are encouraged to apply.
GFSI evidently values inputs from other expert groups e.g. Academics, specific industry sector experts and will reach out to a broader stakeholder group during the development process of GFSI BMR.
In addition to the information provided below, the successful applicants will receive an onboarding session including further details as it relates to this working group’s mandate and GFSI’s ways of working, thus enabling them to make a pertinent contribution to the working group’s output.
We expect the first meeting of the new Working Group to be an online meeting on the 5th of December 2023, followed by an in-person meeting towards the end of January 2024. Further details to be confirmed to successful applicants.
In line with GFSI Governance Rules, CGF/GFSI member companies are given priority when applying for GFSI Working Groups.
