GFSI is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Cosby, Director Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance of The Kroger Co., as the new Retail co-Chair of the GFSI US-Canada local group, joining current Manufacturer co-Chair Tammy Hogan, Senior Innovation, Technology & Quality Manager of General Mills.
Catherine is an experienced food safety professional with 19 years of experience in assessing, developing, and communicating food safety risk mitigation and continuous improvement across the supply chain. In her current role at The Kroger Co., Catherine directs food safety and regulatory compliance for Retail Operations and Supply Chain. She is a graduate of The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Food Science.
“I am honored to have been selected to serve as co-chair for the US-Canada Local Group. With GFSI’s mission to provide Safe food for Everyone, I look forward to working with my esteemed colleagues to ensure that industry standard food safety framework remains in place while driving continuous improvement in the ever-changing food supply chain. We have an obligation to uphold these standards and GFSI is a key driver to do so,” says Catherine.
Tammy adds, “I am excited to see the breadth and depth of experiences that Catherine will bring to the Local Group. Her leadership at large retail firms & CPGs along with experiences in human food, pet food and food service will bring a unique perspective to continue building both trust and food safety capabilities across the industry!”
