The GFSI Conference
On this page, you can find answers to your COVID-related questions and learn how we are adapting the GFSI Conference to best serve you and support the global food safety community amidst the continued effects of the pandemic.
We are committed to delivering the 2022 GFSI Conference as a physical event that meets the highest expectations around sharing knowledge and creating connections – so critical to the continued collaboration at the heart of the Global Food Safety Initiative – accompanied by all of the health and sanitary precautions necessary to meet safely in person.
We have made the decision to hold the 2022 GFSI Conference as an in-person event in Barcelona. We are moving full speed ahead in the development of an extraordinary event to support the industry in these extraordinary times.
No, the 2022 edition of the GFSI Conference will not have a virtual component. In line with our commitment to providing the premier networking event for food safety professionals worldwide and to honour the commitment of our sponsors and exhibitors, we are providing an in-person-only event. The International Barcelona Convention Center is firmly reserved and ready to welcome you!
We will adhere to recommended cautionary measures, protocols and guidelines from leading health organisations and national authorities and adjust precautionary measures as necessary to ensure the health and safety of our event attendees and staff.
We would like to thank you for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm we have received from the community around the decision to hold the event in person – from the encouraging comments to the surging rate of registrations and the renewed support from sponsors and exhibitors.
The safety and wellbeing of our delegates and colleagues is a top priority for The Consumer Goods Forum, the Global Food Safety Initiative and GFSI Conference. The International Barcelona Convention Center is very spacious, we have reserved our own space and will not commingle with any other groups. Attendees will be spread out in plenary halls, meeting rooms and networking spaces. The exhibition hall has an open floor plan and all recommended sanitary measures – from hand sanitisers to masks and health pass checks – will be implemented throughout the conference week.
Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and new laws involving indoor events and activities, a Health Pass (EU Digital COVID Certificate) is required to attend the event. Passes can be digital or in paper format. They include a QR code that will be scanned on entry into the venue. Learn more about the Health Pass and how to obtain one on the Spanish Travel Health website.
