GFSI is opening a new stakeholder consultation, a vital step in the benchmarking of International Featured Standards (IFS) against the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements Version 7.1.
Already one of the GFSI-recognised certification programmes, IFS is one of the largest private standards with a worldwide network and since 2003 benchmarked against every GFSI Guidance Document. Over 22.000 approved manufacturers as well as logistics providers in the food business and 75 contracted certification bodies and over 1.000 approved auditors with more than 20 different native languages work within IFS. The objective of IFS certification is to verify whether a manufacturer can produce a product that is safe in accordance with the customer specifications.
Why a Re-benchmarking?
GFSI continually evolves its requirements to reflect new industry challenges, best practice and stakeholder input. With the publication of version 7 of the Benchmarking Requirements, certification programme owners (CPOs) are invited to complete a new benchmarking process. This collaborative exercise is one of the key ways by which new requirements are implemented throughout the industry at large for the benefit of consumers everywhere. You can also check our website at any time to check the status of a benchmarking process.
Why a Consultation?
Open stakeholder consultations are an important step in this process to ensure the greatest transparency and objectivity, and are conducted after the desktop self-assessment review and the office visit led by an independent benchmark leader.
How to Participate
To participate in this consultation, simply download the documents from our Consultations page of the GFSI website.
