GFSI Welcomes New Steering Committee Member, Kelvin Chen

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), an Industry Solution within The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), is excited to welcome Kelvin Chen to its Steering Committee.

As Head of Quality Assurance at Wumart Group, Kelvin has a solid scientific and professional background, including a bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Engineering, as well as 23 years of experience in retail quality management, during which he has accumulated rich management and leadership experience.

In his role at Wumart Group, he is responsible for key work related to food safety and quality management.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Kelvin has excellent industry leadership. He is the technical committee member of the China National Standardisation Committee and former Local Group Co-Chair of GFSI China, and he has always been actively involved in work related to the fields of food safety and quality science, promoting vital cooperation among enterprises, the industry, authoritative institutions and other stakeholders.

Kelvin’s significant contributions to GFSI as a Local Group leader are invaluable, and we are privileged to welcome him to the Steering Committee. By bringing a major Chinese retailer’s perspective, Kelvin will be key in our work to raise the bar on global standards and forge an even more harmonised approach to food safety worldwide.
