The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), The Consumer Goods Forum’s Industry Solution on food safety, is pleased to announce the appointment of Liz Duffy to its Steering Committee.
As Vice President of Global Food Safety & Compliance at Walmart, Liz joins a Steering Committee composed of 17 other senior food safety leaders from the world’s most influential retail and manufacturing organisations. Her 20 years of experience in cross-functional leadership will be a key asset in driving GFSI’s strategic priorities.
Since joining Walmart in 2006, Liz has held a variety of leadership roles. In her current capacity, she oversees the company’s end-to-end food safety strategy across global operations.
Prior to this, she served as Vice President, Global Omnichannel Compliance, leading initiatives for Walmart’s eCommerce and Online Delivery platforms. Her tenure also includes pivotal roles in recall execution, store operations, and digital commerce. Liz began her career in Quality Assurance at Cargill Value Added Meats and holds an MBA with a focus on Leadership and Ethics.
The GFSI Steering Committee is comprised of senior food safety leaders who help shape the direction of the Industry Solution, driving collaboration to ensure “safe food for people everywhere.”
We are delighted to welcome Liz to the Steering Committee. Her extensive experience—from quality assurance to strategic leadership at Walmart—brings an invaluable perspective. Liz’s deep understanding of omnichannel compliance is particularly timely as we progress our strategic vision and consider all the challenges of a modern supply chain.
Elizabeth Andoh-Kesson, Interim Director of GFSI
I am honored to join the GFSI Steering Committee. Throughout my career, I have seen that strong collaboration across regions, sectors, and cultures is fundamental to building resilient food safety systems. I look forward to working with fellow industry stakeholders to advance the harmonization of global standards and to reinforce food safety as a non-competitive foundation of consumer trust.
Liz Duffy, Vice President, Global Food Safety & Compliance at Walmart
