In the last GFSI update of 2021, GFSI Director Erica Sheward recaps some of the year’s achievements, noting that “the list is pretty huge.” The year started out with the GFSI Conference making a successful move to virtual and GFSI itself being relaunched as a Coalition of Action of The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF). In the video update, Erica thanks the newly formed GFSI Steering Committee, some of the greatest food safety leaders in the world, for coming together and taking responsibility to lead the strategic charge for GFSI in 2021 and beyond.

“This year, we really did pull out all the stops” she continued, listing further achievements across public-private partnerships, Local Groups, the Science and Technology Advisory Group (STAG) and the Race to the Top (RTTT). “We are exactly where we would want to be at this time of the year on the four features of the RTTT we launched in 2020.”

What can you look forward to in 2022? The update also includes a brief look ahead, from a sneak peek at what the new year has in store for GFSI’s capability building work, to a chance to meet leaders from the World Food Programme (WFP), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Barcelona at the 2022 GFSI Conference.

“On behalf of everyone at The CGF, on the GFSI Team and Steering Committee, we wish you the best for the festive season. We look forward to seeing you all healthy, happy and well to join us again in 2022. Stay safe!”
