GFSI US-Canada

The US-Canada Local Group is a dynamic, industry-driven multi-stakeholder coalition focused on implementing the GFSI strategy across the US and Canada. Re-established in the fall of 2021, this group unites top retailers, manufacturers, and service providers to provide market intelligence and represent GFSI interests within the North American context. Emphasizing robust collaboration and communication with the GFSI Team, the Local Group ensures its initiatives are aligned and achieve maximum impact.

The US-Canada Local Group focuses on three key areas:

Share knowledge and increase the understanding and awareness of the value of third party certification, and enhance its value where possible.

Enhance mutual understanding of food safety trends and responses between food safety regulators and food companies with a view to improve collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Support GFSI with food safety capability building within North America, and to provide general feedback on GFSI’s tools and approaches.
