This announcement follows the one made by GFSI on 7th June 2024 that the GFSI Steering Committee has suspended recognition of certification programmes owned by the Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) until evidence of re-alignment to GFSI Benchmarking requirements v2020 is provided by the Certification Programme Owner EFI to GFSI for further review and confirmation that alignment was regained.
As indicated in our announcement on 7th June 2024, as part of the GFSI Governance Rules, EFI has a right to appeal this decision.
GFSI reports on 24th June 2024 that EFI has chosen not to appeal the decision. The certification programme owner is rather working towards the provision of evidence of re-alignment with GFSI Benchmarking requirements, with GFSI’s continued support.
