New public stakeholder consultation for: FSSC 22000 Version 7 | GFSI BMRs v2024.

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is pleased to open the public stakeholder consultation for FSSC 22000 Version 7. This consultation is a mandatory step in the GFSI benchmarking process to allow for industry-wide input regarding the certification programme’s alignment with the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements Version 2024.

From 01 September 2026 to 01 October 2026 at midnight CET, we invite all interested stakeholders to participate and share their feedback on FSSC’s GFSI benchmarking report.

Scopes of application

FSSC has applied for recognition for:

• FSSC 22000 Version 7

against the following GFSI scopes:

• BIII – Pre-process Handling of Plant Products
• CO – Animal Conversion
• CI – Processing of Perishable Animal Products
• CII – Processing of Perishable Plant Products
• CIII – Processing of Perishable Animal and Plant Products (Mixed Products)
• CIV – Processing of Ambient Stable Animal and Plant Products (Mixed Products)
• D – Production of Feed
• G – Provision of Storage and Distribution Services
• I – Production of Food Packaging
• K – Production of (Bio) Chemicals and Bio-cultures Used as Food Ingredients or Processing Aids in Food Production

Invitation for input

GFSI invites all interested stakeholders to review the assessment documents and provide technical comments regarding the programme’s conformity to the GFSI Requirements.

About FSSC 22000

FSSC 22000 was launched in 2009 and contains a complete certification scheme for food safety management system certification based on existing ISO standards (i.e. ISO 22000 and ISO 22002-x series for sector PRPs). The certification is accredited to ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 22003-1.

The aim of the Scheme is to ensure that it continuously meets international food industry requirements resulting in a certification that assists in assuring that organizations provide safe food to their customers.
