Update: 3rd December: This consultation is now closed. Please be sure you are subscribed to receive further consultations and news updates.

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is pleased to invite all interested stakeholders to take part in this consultation exploring arrangements for a successful transition to the new model of food safety auditor qualification and professional development.

This is the final consultation around the launch of Feature 1 of GFSI’s Race to the Top framework, which is designed to increase recognition of the vital role of auditors in securing safe food for people everywhere.

The first objective of this consultation is to explore the arrangements GFSI should consider in order to ensure a successful transition to the new model. The second objective is to ensure coherence between the existing GFSI Benchmarking Requirements for Certification Programmes and the new GFSI Benchmarking Requirements for Professional Recognition Bodies (PRB). This will enable a consistent approach across both the food safety criteria for food operations and the auditors entrusted with assessing their implementation.

GFSI is committed to defining effective transition arrangements to minimise disruption, optimise the transition period and create momentum towards the shared benefits for all involved stakeholders. Your responses to this consultation will be critical for the GFSI Steering Committee as they work to define the appropriate transitional arrangements, which will be published on the heels of the new GFSI Benchmarking Requirements for PRBs set for publication at the beginning of November 2021.

To participate, please read the consultation document carefully before completing the feedback form.

This consultation will be open until noon CET on the 3rd December 2021. Please note that any responses received after this deadline may not be considered.

This is an open consultation, so please feel free to circulate it to others within your organisation and network who may be interested in responding to it.
