Paris, November 2nd 2023 – Responding to the ever-evolving needs of Food Business Operators (FBOs), GFSI is delighted to announce the launch of the new GFSI GMaP™, a Global Markets Programme allowing FBOs easy access to a suite of tools to enable self-assessment of food safety proficiencies based on CODEX Alimentarius.
Focused on primary production and manufacturing activities, the new GFSI GMaP™ toolkits include a food safety checklist and associated protocols, and training and competency frameworks, which are intended to support the multiple ways that FBOs can signify their overall food safety capabilities to enhance their capability to trade internationally or domestically. GFSI has been dedicated to supporting organisations to develop food safety capabilities for over fifteen years.
Chair of the GFSI Capability Sub-Committee Tom Wiester said:
“Following extensive consultation with all our stakeholders on the future direction of capability building support provided by GFSI, we are proud to announce the launch of the New GFSI Global Markets Programme which heralds a new era for this vital area of GFSI’s work. We have listened carefully to stakeholders about what they wanted and needed form the GFSI Global Markets Programme – rigorous governance; clearly defined roles and responsibilities for GFSI in relation to the toolkits and content that was up to date and relevant to the needs of those FBOs seeking to improve their food safety capabilities. I would like to thank the GFSI Steering Committee for their support in helping make all of this possible.”
The new GFSI GMaP™ celebrates the principles that the GFSI network is built upon:
● Strengthening food safety networks
● Collectively building a global food safety community, serving joint concerns
● Collaboration across barriers and borders
● Driving GFSI’s shared mission ‘Safe Food for People Everywhere.’
