The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), an Industry Solution within The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), is delighted to announce that Dr. Amy Parks, Director of Global Food Safety and Quality Assurance Governance and Regulatory Compliance at Dole plc, has joined the GFSI Steering Committee.
With expertise rooted in a rigorous scientific background, including a Ph.D. in Food Microbiology focusing on food safety research, and over 20 years of industry experience, Amy brings strategic insight to tackle complex food safety challenges.
In her role at Dole, she leads crucial work on global programme harmonisation and regulatory compliance and drives transformation by identifying and evaluating new technologies, interventions, and testing methods. She champions data-led innovation and rigorous technical approaches to strengthen food product safety.
Known for a collaborative, process-driven approach, Amy is committed to cultivating a stronger food safety culture, drawing on real-life examples. Her engagement extends to continuous involvement with food safety science. In her Dole role, she keeps abreast of external studies and leads proprietary research initiatives. As a member of the Centre for Produce Safety Technical Committee, she actively fosters vital collaboration between industry and the research community.
This blend of practical, scientifically grounded expertise and commitment to collaboration makes her a valuable addition to the GFSI Steering Committee, supporting GFSI’s mission of driving progress in food safety from farm to fork.
