The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), The Consumer
Goods Forum’s Coalition of Action on food safety, is pleased to welcome Lalaina Randriamanantsoa back to the team as Senior Technical Manager.
Lalaina’s wealth of experience brings diverse perspectives and pragmatic approaches to food safety management aimed at ensuring consumer protection. With over fifteen years experience in the food and food service industries, she has occupied roles in operations excellence; auditing and brand standards implementation, handling auditor approval and integrity program; second and third-party auditing as well as government services and regulatory affairs. Lalaina is a trained food technologist and holds an international Masters Degree in Food Safety Management.
“This is more than just work for me, coming from Madagascar, one of the poorest countries in the world, where access to safe food is not guaranteed and risk mitigation is a constant preoccupation for every person in securing their daily portion of food.”, Lalaina expressed. “My passion for consumer protection has kept me connected to the GFSI ecosystem. I am excited to be back at a very dynamic time as GFSI reaffirms its commitment to helping deliver safe food for people everywhere, “I am also convinced that GFSI is in a unique position to provide the necessary tools to enable emerging markets to pursue safe food production & handling practices.
Lalaina’s wide range of expertise is valuable to the implementation of GFSI’s bold and innovative projects, namely: the career and professional development of food safety auditors. Her responsibilities will focus primarily on supporting GFSI’s mission to harmonise food safety management in today’s world as consumer trends globally shift towards more sustainable food systems, whilst enabling food safety management to adapt and be inclusive of broader aspects for effective implementation and positive impact.
