PARIS, 19th March 2019 – The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) has launched two new episodes in the long-running GFSI Web Series, showcasing the unique role of the GFSI Global Markets Programme in the advancement of food safety for consumers worldwide.
The Global Markets Programme provides food suppliers and buying companies with a step-by-step guide to improve their food safety management systems, while growing their market access on their journey towards certification. Over the past three years, the GFSI Web Series has gone to different corners of the globe to explore how companies of all shapes and sizes are utilising GFSI tools within their companies.
Throughout the latest episodes, both Rubén Bacon Morales of Asociaciones Agroindustriales Serranas and Sunday Bamikole of Plantation Industries Limited Akure tell of their unique application of GFSI tools to advance food safety systems across their businesses.
In the case of Asociaciones Agroindustriales Serranas, the company was invited by Nestlé Mexico to participate in the programme, with Nestlé championing the development of the supply chain. Through the GFSI programme, both companies have driven supply chain growth, achieved certification, conducted hazard analysis, and built a robust food safety culture. Their successes highlight the role of the GFSI’s Global Markets Programme in unlocking new potential for business growth and optimisation across the food industry.
The wider GFSI web series provides a platform for companies to best showcase to the world how they are leveraging GFSI tools for success, empowering other players within the food industry to take action and become front runners in the food safety journey.
The two newest episodes, made possible by Orkin, a subsidiary of Rollins Inc., were premiered exclusively at the GFSI Conference, which gathered over 1,000 top-tier food industry experts in Nice, France to tackle emerging challenges in food safety.
Steve Leavitt, President of Emerging Opportunity Group at Rollins, Inc., says, “We are proud to partner with GFSI for the second year in a row, bringing to life food safety challenges and success stories from around the world.
